(More customer reviews)We got a good price for ours - under $100 during the pre-Christmas specials.I can't imagine paying the price listed on Amazon right now.You can do much better than Nextar for GPS.
I have to keep it plugged in all the time when I'm using it - the battery does not keep a charge very long.It does get me where I need to go.Thankfully, I don't live in an area that is constantly changing.I do like having the GPS and it works for the most part.
However, it is now October - 10 months after we purchased it - and there are no available map updates.So after one year I will need to buy a new GPS if I want current map information.Thankfully, I'm just a Mom shuttling her kids from one museum to the next, so this GPS serves the purpose of getting me to historical locations that have been there for years.If you're a delivery person and need current information this is not the way to go.
For the price I guess it served it's purpose.However, I am highly dissatisfied with Nextar and it's decision not to update these GPS maps.I would not recommend purchasing from Nextar for any price.(Their website offers a "deal" where one can exchange one's old Nextar GPS system for a new one for just $129.Great plan - make customers buy a new GPS every year.)
Don't do it - not a wise purchase at all.
